In the news! Brass musician wants city band to lift Goulburn's spirits - Andy strikes up a band for civic entertainment and community pride
Music has a remarkable ability to unite people and uplift spirits. Lilac City Brass provides an inclusive platform for musicians of all ages and skill levels to come together, share their love for music, and contribute to the cultural tapestry of our community.
Beyond the joy it brings to its members, Lilac City Brass also has a positive impact on our community as a whole. Through performances at local events, festivals, and community gatherings, the band serves as cultural ambassadors, showcasing the talent and creativity that thrives within our community.
We play a vital role in inspiring and engaging our youth. By offering music education programs, workshops, and performance opportunities, the band can nurture the next generation of musicians, fostering a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts.

About our Musical Director
Our Musical Director, Andy Yule, studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music in the UK and became an Associate of the Royal College of Music (London) in 2000.
Andy has successfully started new bands and revitalised waning bands in NSW. His last band being Southern Brass www.southernbrass.info.
Andy has won solo competitions both here and in the UK and has previously been NSW State Champion. Community bands he has led have won competitions at both State and National levels, but more importantly have grown to develop youth programs and become an active part of the community.
